Mason's Fishy Day

First of all, I caught a fish on Friday. I was very excited when I caught my fish. When I caught my fish or for how I caught my fish, I got my fishing pole. It is a special type of fishing pole, it is not like a bamboo pole, it is a rod and reel, the kind you sling out. And this is how I caught my fish. I got a worm on my rod and reel.



I put on one sinker on my rod and reel and a floater.



The floater went down under the water, I yanked a the fishing pole up and guess what was on my pole. A BIG GIANT FISH!!



It was the biggest fish I have ever seen. My mom said I could eat it.



But guess what. It was the most disgusting thing I'd ever eaten.




I threw it away and ate some regular chicken instead.

We also cut the fish's head off before we cooked it.



It was very bloody. We used a spoon to rip the scales off by dragging the spoon up and down on the fish's skin.



Guess where we put the head and heart? We buried it where our plants grow and the plants will eat part of the fish up. Plants suck up the vitamins from the fish. When we dig it up we'll see his bones.

Today, we planted Petunia seeds, Lobelia and Butterfly Bush.

If you know, we got a spoon and put some dirt in it and before we did that we, of course, got a bag of soil and poured some water in and stirred it up by shaking it. And then, we put some seeds in. We put them in a pots and we put the pots in the germination bag.

The water evaporated but since they are in the germination bag it couldn't come out. So when we looked it looked like hundred of drops on the bag, but when we open it up the water will evaporate off. When we open it up the plant will be one inch big. We'll take the plants out and put them in the sunlight. Also, today, when we were planting, we stopped planting and started to catch a big black spider. We wanted to kill him but in a way he wouldn't feel it. We put some alcohol in a cotton ball and put it in the jar and he would fall asleep and die and wouldn't even feel a thing. And, of course, we found two snails. We have them in another jar where there is tons of dirt, because you know snails love dirt, and we want to keep those snails so we can see how strong they are by tying them to sticks and rocks and stuff. And also, we are going to make them have snail races.




The Ants

Friday, we caught some ants. How did we catch them? We got some sugar,

a grape,

a blueberry pancake,

and a potato

and put them on the concrete outside. But that was just to see what would attract the ants best.

The answer is THE SUGAR!!


So now we learned that ants like sweet things. Then we found out the way to catch them. The way is to get a spoon of honey

and put it beside the bed and the ants will smell the honey. And they will come out and get on the spoon. But when we see the ants are on the spoon we pick it up and dump it in the jar with the honey for the ants to have a little snack. We took the ants to a jar where we put leaves, a little water, some grapes and some nice good soil and dirt for them to have a healthy home and wrapped it in foil so the ants will think they are underground and dig.

We think most ants build parts of their hives underground. Just think in your mind if ants were human and their hives, the underground part, are like you walking into the basement. Of course, I am excited to take the foil off of my ant farm on Thursday and see the work the ants have done.

Mason's Book of Science

When I learned, when I was doing pictures with my mom, I saw a spider.

When I saw the spider he was carrying something on his back. So, now I know that some spiders carry some of their bugs on their back, wrap it in the web, wind it up and slowly eat them. Also, I saw a dragonfly on a flower, well, of course, you know, a flower that wasn't grown completely.

I saw the dragonfly on it. And when I saw it we took a picture of it. It seems that the dragonfly has 4 wings. Some people don't know that. But, so now I learned when I was picturing with mom that dragonflies have four wings. After that we saw a giant ant.

He was about as big as your finger nearly touching. When we saw that ant he was climbing down a tree. When we took a picture of him he was on the ground. He was black. He had 6 legs, like he was supposed to. After that we saw an ant hive.

When we saw it my mom got a stick and poked a hole in it so we could see some ants. And after that, we saw a moth.

It was a white moth. It was on a flower licking some of its pollen. And did you know that some butterflies can taste with their feet just like some moths can? And did you know that moths can taste with their feet too? Then we saw another moth and it was yellow.

It was mostly on a flower just like the dragonfly. This wasn't a green ball. This flower was yellow just like the moth. Well, if you know, I happen to be a scientist. Okay, that's all for today.

I like chili dogs to eat for dinner. I do homeschooling. I am a spy. My mom has a pretty neat looking house. My cousins are named Kaylee and Falyn, Max and Isabel, Kevin, Walker. Now we move on to friends. Emma's my friend. Mr. Jerry is my friend. Joshua is my friend. Chloe and Alexis are my friends. Luceas takes baseball. And we go to big parks when it snows to sled. And the parks have giant hills. Now, let's see. My mom is a really good dinner cooker. We used to have a cat named Stinky. Done!
